Your AgVet Chemical User Certificate has an expiry of 5 years. In order to renew your Certificate, you do not need to complete the full course again, you only need to complete a shorter Update/Refresher Course. It is important to keep your Certificate up to date due to continual changes to chemicals, procedures and standards.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive AgVet Chemical Users certification and re-registration with AusChem.
This short course does not include accredited units and training as it is a refresher. Applicants should already hold the units below:
AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals
AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds and diseases
Evidence of this in a Statement of Attainment, AusChem Certificate or ACUP is required.

This course teaches the basics of caring for our natural environment. It provides the skills and knowledge needed for work in a defined context or for further study in conservation and ecosystem management. Work is carried out under general guidance and supervision.
The qualification allows individuals to develop basic factual, technical, and procedural knowledge in conservation and ecosystem management.
The Agricultural Chemical Skill Set (previously known as the Farm or Ag/Vet Chemical Users Course) provides the knowledge and skills required to safely select, prepare, apply, transport and store chemicals. Upon successful completion of this course the ACUP (Agricultural Users Permit) can be applied for through AgVic.
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge needed for a career in conservation and ecosystem management. Specializing in Ecosystem Restoration, graduates will be equipped to implement assisted regeneration and ecosystem reconstruction, applying these techniques appropriately.
Biodiversity conservation and restoration ecology is an increasingly important sector. The field ecology skills embedded in this course can lead to a highly rewarding career.
